Hello everyone, Meggie and Carla here (former President and Secretary of Plan-It Change). We wanted to write a blog post to introduce you to Gamanity Cosmetics. This is a clean cosmetics company that works to bring you great products, without the negative environmental consequences. The word ‘Gaman’ in Japanese means perseverance and endurance so Gamanity represents a way of living, a mindset that helps people reach their goals. In the last few months, we have been trialling one of their products – the natural deodorant.
The product goes onto the skin really nicely, it is a very smooth formula. The size of the deodorant is small, but this does not compromise the product. There is plenty of product in the bottle - you can tell it will last a while. I have been using it everyday for the past 2 months and I’m not even a quarter of the way through. Its size means it travels well and is easy to store – this is good because it is especially made for travellers.
It doesn’t work like an antiperspirant, nor does it claim to – you will still sweat, however, it works well to mask any odour. They also address this, using their expertise to tell us that it is good to sweat! Sweating helps to regulate and eliminate toxins! It has a pleasant, and light smell. All products used are natural and you can tell. it doesn’t leave that residue that other deodorants leave. The packaging is great and the push up method is easy to use. It has a sleek packaging which makes it visibly attractive. The black colour makes it work for the modern user, whilst the cardboard packaging makes it attractive to the ‘earthy’ eco-conscious consumer.
What makes this product even better are the founders. Former University of Leicester graduates, Alvaro Garcia Cruz and Katrin Scionti are inspiring in what they have done. Using their background in Chemistry (Alvaro) and biotechnology (Katrin), they combine their intelligence with their enthusiasm for making a difference in the environment. The products contain all natural ingredients (vegan options too!) and comes in 100% recyclable packaging. Additionally, Gamanity host monthly talks (posted on their Facebook: Gamanity Health & Cosmetics | Facebook ) and meetings to create a community that discusses success and the use of good natural products.
